Every place carries traces — layers of time, material, and use. My work begins with the attempt to read those traces before adding anything.
Studio Fabian Ziltz is an architecture and photography studio based in Konstanz on Lake Constance. The focus is on working with existing buildings: conversions, renovations, and careful interventions in built substance — always with the intention of strengthening what is already there rather than overwriting it.
The same attitude shapes new buildings: simple, ecological construction methods, durable and natural materials, a deliberate approach to resources. Whatever emerges — whether conversion or new build — should inscribe itself into its context, not write over it.
I am drawn to the atmospheric quality of spaces: light and threshold, material and joint, the interplay of interior and exterior. In close collaboration with clients, craftspeople, and specialist consultants, individual and considered solutions take shape — from private houses to public buildings.
